Little Mashal Water Fall Hike on 2-21-15

On Saturday, February 21, the Light Boot Hikers got together with Girls on the Go Hiking Group.  It was a bit cloudy and cool, but no rain.  We all started on a great trail, in the beginning.  We spotted a bald Eagle.  I love those birds, they are so beautiful!

Then found the Little Mashal Water Falls trail and up we went.  Unfortunately, it was really muddy!  We were slipping and sliding.  I even fell on my bottom and got pretty muddy.  We all eventually got up to the Water Fall and it was amazing!  Part of the group decided to go behind the waterfall and got a bit wet.  There was quite a bit of water coming down as there had been lots of rain recently.    We stopped and had lunch on the upper falls.  Everyone was having a great time.   Rather than come back the way we came up, as there was so much mud, we decided to go through Pack Forest and meet up with the Bud Blancher Trail.   That was about a 7 mile hike.  The sun came out and we all had an amazing day with great people!

Hike on Monday with Girls on the Go and the Wanderers on 2-16-15

Had an amazing day hiking at Greenwater with a group of hikers of all ages.  This is what I love so much about hiking.   Anyone can do this!  Greenwater is one of my favorite hikes, as it is so beautiful there.  We hiked over 5 miles.  Ethan 4 years of age and Evan 5 years of age were amazing!  They had so much fun, as well as Carol and Bruce's grandchildren, who were about 11 years old.  There was lots of exploring to do.   We even spotted a white swan on one of the lakes.  Although a bit windy and cold, we did get some sunshine.  Looked beautiful as it flickered through the trees.  After the hike some of us stopped at Wally's in Enumclaw for an ice cream treat.  Yummy!

they are triplets!

Started off with some sunshine as the sun flickered through the trees.

Our first bridge crossing.  Such a great improvement from the last
log bridge that crossed the river.

Peggy and her grandson, Evan.  He is quite the hiker at 5 years of age.

The river was amazing, even with fallen logs on it.

Me, next to a huge tree that had fallen.

Definitely winter looking.  The trees are naked.

Beautiful scenery.

Crossing another bridge.

Love this picture.

White swan on the lake.

Lunch time.  2 1/2 miles in.

Could not go any further as the bridge is out.

Coming back with 4 year old Ethan leading the pack.

Wow, after hiking 5 miles, these two are non-stop!
Playing in the snow.  I want their energy!  ha!
